Kyrgyzstan to Build 40 Trade and Logistics Centers by 2030
Kyrgyzstan plans to construct 40 additional trade and logistics centers by 2030 as part of its strategy to boost agricultural exports and strengthen its position as a regional logistics hub. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, builds on the existing network of 40 centers already operating across the country, with several more scheduled to open in the near term.
The project is aligned with the National Development Program 2030, which aims to modernize logistics infrastructure and bring it up to international standards. Key priorities include expanding railway freight capacity, developing at least 1 million square meters of warehouse infrastructure, upgrading road networks and increasing the transport sector’s contribution to GDP.
Recent growth trends highlight the sector’s momentum: freight volumes have increased by over 20% in recent years, while transport and storage services have grown significantly in value. Logistics centers play a critical role by providing storage, processing, packaging and distribution services, particularly for agricultural products.
Overall, the expansion of logistics infrastructure is expected to enhance Kyrgyzstan’s export capacity, improve supply chain efficiency and support its transformation into a key transit and trade hub in Central Asia.
